    Oh dear dear... their intention was to rise up the price of this poor design jewels by adding the imperials emeralds to it.

    I think it was quite shamefull for Van Cleef & Arpels to do such a thing. I do not doubt the quality of the diamonds and platinum, but the design of the set they were selling could come out of a Hollywood parade or a Miss World beauty peagent. I wouldn't call it plain ugly, but light years away from the fabulous original pieces.
    Absolutely no chic, just something you can buy when you have alot of money (two very diferent thing actually...).
