I wonder why the new king would not wear one of his uniforms? All the currently reigning kings wore theirs at their swearing in/installation/ enthronements. Even Albert II of Monaco wore a type of uniform, though the Furst of Liechtenstein did not. --Previous Message-- : Well I wish your dream would come through... : I don't suspect so but it would be nice if : all royal ladies present, would wear tiaras : and decorations... : : Well on the other hand Prinsjesdag dresscode : is not thàt bad but let's be honoust, it was : not realy prinsjesdag-dresscode in 1980: : because Pieter van Vollenhoven, Carlos-Hugo : and others wore white tie and orders... : So why should the ladies not wear tiaras is : beyond me. : But I suppose we should be happy if things : go (dresscode wise) like they did in 1980. : You will hardly ever see such things become : "better" over several decades, : only worse... : So a reprise of the dresscode in 1980 would : already make me happy because I am afraid : that it easily could become even more : dull... : 33 years is a long time and the world has : changed a lot. : When Beatrix got married in 1966 all woman : wore long dresses but at Willem-Alexanders : wedding none of the woman wore long : dresses... : : Pieter van Vollenhoven and Prince : Constantijn only wear morningdress (jaquet) : during Prinsjesdag proceedings. : They could also opt for thát...let's hope : not. : : : :
