All official gifts to members of the BRF are reported in an annual report. The gifts are considered to be part of the Crown Collection which means they are basically held in trust for the nation. They are not part of the private collections nor are they part of the Crown Jewels but they are at the disposal of the recipient during their lifetime. There is an official policy on receiving gifts part of which is about not offending the gift giver by refusing said gift. --Previous Message-- : Buckingham Palace does not comment on specific : gifts. : : It seems to me that there is no foundation : in UK. : The jewelry are in the crown jewels, or : private jewelry. : The gifts received are official gifts or : private gifts. : : "The guidelines and procedures relating : to gifts drafted in 2003" : : : http://www.royal.gov.uk/LatestNewsandDiary/Pressreleases/2003/Guidelinesandproceduresrelatingtogifts.aspx : : Prince Charles published a list of gifts : given during overseas tours, to : : The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of : Cornwall : The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge : Prince Harry : : : http://www.princeofwales.gov.uk/news-and-diary/official-gift-lists-2012 : : : : :
