i agree, the length of her hemline is best discussed elsewhere....but as to her use of jewelry, i find her choice of costume jewelry interesting. There is no doubt that the store they were purchased in and the designer that created them get a huge amount of press. Perhaps the DofC is trying to support British fashion. PrIncess Diana was also very supportive of British designers and manufacturers. I also think that as time progresses we will see the addition of substantial pieces into her public wardrobe. It might be years before we see the Duchess in a complete parure. There are pieces that I think are stylish enough to be used now.....the ruby bandeau necklace and the Cartier diamond bracelets with rubies, sapphires, and emeralds come to mind. But I imagine for now we'll have to be satisfied with the appearance of some well known brooches. But we do have Queen Maxima to keep us occupied with her bringing out and showing off pieces that haven't been seen in decades!

: While the story is likely fabricated or
: embroidered, it does represent a significant
: section of public opinion. This isn't the
: place to detail wardrobe faux pas (too
: tight, too short, distracting hair, heavy
: makeup) but many also think her jewelry is
: disappointing because it is so juvenile,
    : generic and mid-market identifiable.
: Compare Princess Mary of Denmark with her
: beautiful use of modern real jewelry
: handmade by Danish designers for
: daytime--combined with classic real pearls
: and the like. I realize the Duchess is
: popular and this isn't a comment on her
: person, only on her presentation and style
    : advice.

    : I find it a far-sought and sensationalist
: story. So far the Duchess has proved to be
: an excellent dresser without any faux-pas.
: The only factor for me is her girlie hairdo
: hanging in her face. The jewelry department
: will automatically be frequented more when
: she advances in her royal role.
