I bought this book because I saw an episode of Joan Rivers interviewing Leslie Field. I remember Leslie telling the audience how the Queen would read what Leslie wrote and the Queen would correct what was written if something was wrong.

Leslie also showed Joan and the audience the gold pin she received from QEII after her book was published. I had it on VHS tape, but since we've moved, I have no idea where that tape is. Maybe it's on YouTube somewhere.

: Yes Joye, I did think it could be the Womens
: Weekly. There is a local source to find
: that. I'll probably send you a PM.
    :
: But did Field actually identify the Queen
    : publicly, in any publication?
: I would have thought Field would have been
: very careful about identifying any person
    : who cooperated with her.
    :
    : And the word "proofreading"
: encompasses a lot lot more than providing
    : "Yes" and "No".
: So that was why I was concerned over the
    : heading.

: We all know how easily the wrong idea can
: acquire a life of its own and whizz around

: Elsewhere again I read that Leslie Field
    : said
: that The Queen would pencil yes or no in the
: margin of text submitted , in the forward of
: her book The Queen's Jewels.
: I have been unable to find this in the Field
    : book.
