I like the thought of "dare to wear".
But I think both Mary and Maxima have taken to jewellery seriously as one small part of their roles, and learned more about jewels generally as well as about collection pieces.
Of course a woman must have an interest in jewels to do that.
I feel that they view the wearing as not just personal adornment but a statement.
I do like the way that Mary has embraced present day jewellery, and so successfully for royal occasions.

There is plenty of time for Kate to give her attention to jewellery "after the children are off her hands", if she is inclined that way.
I wonder if she will be inventive at all and imagine she might be.

Queen Elizabeth II has never really stepped outside the traditional habits in her jewellery wearing.
And Camilla took some time to really get into the way of always wearing a brooch, and ringing the changes with them.

: There is only one reason and one reason only
: for wearing little jewelery for a woman:
    : TASTE.
: It is only a matter of taste.
: If a woman (however poor or rich) likes to
: wear broches, bracelets, earrings, rings SHE
    : WILL !
: That Kate doesn't like wearing (much)
    : jewelery is obvious.
: Just as it is clear that the present
: sovereign-princess of Monaco does not like
    : to wear jewels.
    :
: Lets be honoust: do you know of any woman in
: your social circlr that loves jewelery but
: never wears jewels because she cannot afford
    : it?
: Hahaha still have to meet te first woman
    : like that.
    :
: I always find it nice to see the big pieces
    : come out.
: The pieces with a lot of tradition.
: That's why I am happy with the likes of
: Máxima and Mary, who "Dare to
    : Wear".
