Thank you Merlin, I could not think of when The Queen last wore the Coronation necklace abroad, although I know she wore it a number of times during her Commonwealth tour just after she became Queen. My feeling is that HM is using this necklace and earrings as a symbol of the Monarchy, the UK and the Commonwealth to honour those involved in the D-Day events. Her use of these very significant jewels has intrigued me.
