I always understood that the inheritance from QEQM to QEII was under terms arranged with the government during the reign of George VI.
I don't recall ever having read of any inheritance arrangements made with the government during the current reign. It would be good to think a similar arrangement applies, to avoid any need to sell any part of the monarch's estate to meet death duties and similar taxes.
