While I agree that the suggested absence of The Queens usual jewelery is very unusual - it is not totally out of the realms of possibility. Even with the best planning, things can go wrong. I did a quick search (emphasis on quick). I did not see a tiara worn in Nigeria for the state banquet or the CHOGM banquet (but there was in Australia in 2002 and Malta in 2005) and I could not find a single picture of HM in any of her "usual" brooches etc (except her 3 strand pearls). I find this just as unusual in that HM has never before or since made a whole trip with never seen jewelery as was the case in Nigeria. The mystery continues... Cheers!
