For the duration of HM's life and reign there is no issue. But by leaving the jewels to a private family trust she would ensure the collection would survive and not end up on the auction floor like many of the jewels her sister Princess Margaret and cousin the Duke of Kent owned. Within two generations the descendants decided to sell the jewels they inherited. By putting her private collection in a trust each princess and lady of her family could be given access to the collection but they would remain together and available for future generations.
