    I join Bryce's opinion. The Andamooka opal necklace is large, but actually not really overwhelming. Quite wearable, with an appropriate neckline.

    Of course, the main interest of this necklace is the whopper size of the central opal. So there would be no point to reset the necklace with a smaller opal, that would just ruin the interest of the jewel.

    I would be curious, though, to see the opal mounted differently, maybe as a large brooch, or as the centrepiece of a tiara. But if Queen Elizabeth II decides to wear again the necklace just as it is now, I am OK with that!
