I would like to see the Duchess of Cambridge wear the set in its present state. I think it would suit her.
--Previous Message-- : I've always thought the filigree work on the : set was particularly beautiful. What I : would like to see happen is a brooch made : using the opals and then incorporating some : other stones into the the original settings. : I do like Nellie's idea of using a border : of diamonds and then perhaps suspending the : additional two opals. : : --Previous Message-- : : Set as a brooch appeals to me. : Tight border of rose cut diamonds? or some : other jewel? : : : : --Previous Message-- : I join Bryce's opinion. The Andamooka opal : necklace is large, but actually not really : overwhelming. Quite wearable, with an : appropriate neckline. : : Of course, the main interest of this : necklace is the whopper size of the central : opal. So there would be no point to reset : the necklace with a smaller opal, that would : just ruin the interest of the jewel. : : I would be curious, though, to see the opal : mounted differently, maybe as a large : brooch, or as the centrepiece of a tiara. : But if Queen Elizabeth II decides to wear : again the necklace just as it is now, I am : OK with that! : : : : :
