The same with the Baden palmette tiara. There are portraits from Grand Duchess Luise of Baden, the first owner of it at the Beginning of the 20th Century. Next it was seen on a young Princess Margrethe i believe at her pre-Wedding Festivites or a few years earlier. But as far as i know neither Queen Viktoria of Sweden or Queen Ingrid have worn it. --Previous Message-- : The use of the turquoise bandeau is rather : mysterious to me. We know that it was worn : in the 1920’s by then Princess Ingrid (in : the lovely portrait in Swedish court dress) : and by Crown Princess Märtha (at the wedding : of Princess Astrid with Leopold). Than there : is a gap of around 70 years in which it : isn’t seen. And finally Queen Margrethe : wears it for the first time in South Africa : in 1996. Since than she has worn it in : Tanzania (2008), Vietnam (2009) and in 2011 : at an incoming State Visit from South Korea. : (Please correct me if I missed something.) : I wonder why it wasn’t seen for so long? : Even if Queen Ingrid didn’t like it for : herself, it would have been very appropriate : for her young daughters. And as we know, she : didn’t mind lending them eg. the Baden : palmette or the star tiaras. : : : --Previous Message-- : Thankx a lot, amazing tiara on an very : lovely : princess : : :
