Probably the Palmette tiara was too modest for such glittering ladies with various grand tiaras at their disposal, especially Queen Victoria.
--Previous Message-- : The same with the Baden palmette tiara. There : are portraits from Grand Duchess Luise of : Baden, the first owner of it at the : Beginning of the 20th Century. Next it was : seen on a young Princess Margrethe i believe : at her pre-Wedding Festivites or a few years : earlier. But as far as i know neither Queen : Viktoria of Sweden or Queen Ingrid have worn : it. : : --Previous Message-- : The use of the turquoise bandeau is rather : mysterious to me. We know that it was worn : in the 1920’s by then Princess Ingrid (in : the lovely portrait in Swedish court dress) : and by Crown Princess Märtha (at the wedding : of Princess Astrid with Leopold). Than there : is a gap of around 70 years in which it : isn’t seen. And finally Queen Margrethe : wears it for the first time in South Africa : in 1996. Since than she has worn it in : Tanzania (2008), Vietnam (2009) and in 2011 : at an incoming State Visit from South Korea. : (Please correct me if I missed something.) : I wonder why it wasn’t seen for so long? : Even if Queen Ingrid didn’t like it for : herself, it would have been very appropriate : for her young daughters. And as we know, she : didn’t mind lending them eg. the Baden : palmette or the star tiaras. : : : --Previous Message-- : Thankx a lot, amazing tiara on an very : lovely : princess : : : : :
