I suppose hypothetically Begeer could have remodelled an older tiara from the collection, one that once belonged to Queen Sophie. Yes. We simply do not know, yet. But the news that the tiara in it's present shape seems to have been made by Begeer is truly a new find, worth some exitement and it confirms the doubts over the provenance (maker) of at least one tiara always attributed to Jeweller Schurmann in Frankfurt.
--Previous Message-- : Sorry, folks, but as I have no access to : article in VORSTEN, this discussion is : confusing me. : Do I understand correctly, that the author : of the article dicovered the b/w pic of the : tiara in the Royal Begeers archives? But do : the archive also confirm that it is from the : year 1897? If I understood the discussion : correctly, there is only the photo and no : accompanying documentation from the : archives. So that could mean that Begeers : either made the tiara completely new, or : they altered an existing tiara (eg. from : Queen Sophie), couldn’t it? : Could anyone please enlighten me? Thanks in : advance! : :
