From a purely selfish stand point (my own) I hope she doesn't start any kind of trend or we won't have much of a message board here in the future. I love glitter and I love the history of the pieces these ladies so graciosly wear. I have learned a lot of historical information from this board by way of the jewels that are worn. I can only submise as to why, no one knows but the HSH and possibly her husband. --Previous Message-- : Well it is a general rule to wear a tiara to a : tiara-event if you have one at your disposal : (either because you outright own it or have : access to it otherwise). The Royal guests : who attended Charlene's wedding did her the : honor of wearing tiara's for her : celebrations at night and they wore hats for : the religious ceremony in the palace : courtyard as was expected of them by the : Monegask court. : In my view Charlene showed bad manners by : not wearing a tiara or the aigrette. She did : have a perfect jewel for the event to wear : (assuming she does not care to wear the : jewels that belonged to her mother-in-law or : any other woman of the family) but opted to : leave it home. Not a good choice and not : very honorable towards her hosts and the : bridal couple. : : Besides where do you get the idea she : doesn't like to wear jewels? She's worn two : different sets of hairjewels on her : weddingday, attended several events wearing : big and small earrings, necklaces etc. : : Not to mention the fact that she was : involved in the design of the two pieces she : was given by her husband for their wedding. : Not a very nice gesture towards him to leave : them in the safe...... : : --Previous Message-- : Just because one owns jewels does that mean : one is obligated to wear them for the : amusement of others? Does ownership mean one : no longers has any choice in how one choses : to dress oneself? : For a lady who does not generally wear : jewels and who did not wear any at the : wedding she seems to be generating an awful : lot of comment on a jewel board from people : who do not know her but somehow feel : slighted because she did not wear jewels : they wanted to see. : Then of course there are those who felt free : to diss her body, her sexuality, and her : marriage because she did not wear the jewels : they wanted her to. : I joined this board to participate in a : factual discussion about jewels actually : worn, not thise not worn and certainly not : to discuss peoples bodies, sexuality or : marriages. . If I wanted gossio and inuendo : I can get that on The Royal Forums. : : --Previous Message-- : Henri! It was made very clear her husband : gave : her the aigrette and the necklace/tiara both : designed for her with the princess : contributing to the designs. So she had at : the very least two pieces to wear. The blue : colours in the necklace tiara would have : clashed with the colour of her gown, but the : diamond aigrette would have looked very good : on her in this particular dress as the : photoshop efforts of one of our fellow : posters demonstrates. : She also owns several pairs of diamond : earrings and as the wife of one of the : richest monarchs in Europe im sure her : personal expense account could manage the : aquisition of a few pieces if she felt she : needed/wanted them. : I very much doubt she would have to buy new : pieces, she allready has a number of : suitable jewels and that is not taking into : account the pieces that belonged to her : mother-in-law and princess Charlotte. It is : still unclear who owns what when it comes to : those pieces but several of them have been : around the world in exhibitions about : princess Grace with labels that the jewels : belong to HSH the Sovereign Prince of : Monaco. Do you honestly believe a husband : would refuse his young wife to wear family : jewels when she is representing his dynasty : and nation????? : : --Previous Message-- : It is very unpolite to peep into a lady's : jewelry cassette and then expecting that the : lady MUST wear something out of her : cassette. : : The contents of someone's jewel cassette are : in principle a private matter. We have no : idea how the situation is at the palais : princier. Does Charlène have jewels at all? : And if she has jewels (the Ocean Spray, the : Repossi collier) does she own it, or were it : loans and does she actually like these : jewels? : : I think the Princess knows the invitation : and how it works at the Scandinavian courts. : And if she did not know, the courtiers at : the palais princier should have known, let : alone her own husband. I think the Princess : had no any intention to be rude or : disrespectful so we can only guess about her : choice to appear pretty low key. Still it is : her own choice to which she is perfectly : entitled to. : : : : : : : : : : :
