Unique collection deserves a unique publication Archived Message

Well with the arrival of internet and all these open sources most is known now anyway so there's no hiding anylonger. One google search and your set for the day. An important consideration for Beatrix not to collaborate on a updated book might have been that she did not want to flaunt her (House's) wealth too much. But I have said this before: this private collection is the most unique jewel collection in the Netherlands and has tremendous cultural-historic value and should be viewed as such, not as an accumulation of wealth. For that reason alone it deserves a fully documented, full colour book. I have every confidence in Their Majesties that they agree with this and will give permission to the right individual for a new publication as almost all other European Monarchies have done. --Previous Message-- : First of all: Thanks ErikS for sharing. : It's a gorgous photo of a gorgous Tiara. : : I agree with Jos, that the openness of the : British and Scandinavian courts probarbly : has a lot to do with this. : : I mean: the past decade so many wonderful : books have come unto the market about : Tiaras. : Some of which are referred to as : standardworks or even "the bible about : tiaras"...(Munn). : In all these books magnificant close up : photos are to be seen of Tiaras in posession : of the : British, Norwegian, Swedish and Luxembourg : Royal houses (a.o.) but never has there in : all these books been a photo of one of the : items from the Dutch royal collection... : I think in hindsight the Dutch court also : finds that a bit of an ommission. But they : know ofcourse that they are solely to blame : for that themselves. : So they are now gradually changing their : position in this. : : : :
