In his book about the Dutch royal jewels René Brus writes a.o.t. about the fact that the necklace of the Dutch Crownparure was designed and made by Frankfurt-based jeweler Schürmann.
I have always found that só strange. A beautiful diamond necklace designed in 1897 in posession of a reigning Royal Family but never seen in public untill the 1950's ?
I just don't buy that.
Why did Wilhelmina never wear it? Why did Juliana wait until her accesion? Why did Beatrix never wear it? Will we ever see Maxima with it?
What is it with this necklace that (made in 1897) it wasn't seen from 1897-1948 and neither from 1972-2013 ? So during its existing, 116 years it was nót worn for 92 years, seems so odd to me!
I think it is a beautiful necklace and could (were it put on a frame) also be a wonderful coronet/tiara.
I think there is something fishy about this necklace. Maybe the diamonds were not real after all?
