The Stuart Parure is called a parure because she is made from the House diamonds. Stones that have been in the family since the 17 and 18th century.
According to Rene Brus the shape of the necklace is dictated by a design for the rectangular stones and their setting. The same design exists from the jeweler of Stadholder Frederik Hendrik and was later copied by the British Royal jeweler for a crown (queen Victoria's?) after they had been taking care of the Orange-jewels for a while. So the fact that the Stuart parure isn't in one style has to do with the accumulated and allready set parts of the parure. The bow brooch is probably made from brooches that Wilhelmina of Prussia wore on a ribbon around her neck and on the bodice of her dress. The two triangular stones belonged to Anna of Hanover and were first used in a necklace and later to bulk up the stomacher. Why Wilhelmina never wore the necklace? no idea but it doesn't mean she did not have it.
Wilhelmina had plenty of jewels including earrings from her father she never wore.

: I don't find that a satisfying answer as the
: size of the stones is a limitation to what
: one can do design wise but using the same
: repeating basic motifs (floral, leafs and
: berries etc) in the tiara, necklace and
: corsage can't be that difficult, surely!? No
: I still believe this indicates these were
: never made as a parure but rather individual
: pieces worn together as a parure by Juliana.
: Wilhelmina only wore the tiara and corsage
: together on ocassion. As said, we have yet
: to find a picture of her with the necklace
: which is strange considering it was
: supposedly made for her in 1897......And it
: was not as if she was not used to wearing
    : uncomfortable bulky jewellery either.....as
: we can see in another thread.

: You are absolutely right about the set not
: being a parure. None of the 3 jewels share
    : the same design.
    :
: But then: if you want to execute a tiara,
: necklace and brooch in the same design, one
: also needs the same stones in the same
: shapes. And that's where the difference with
: this commission pops up: the jeweller had to
: work with a given number of historic
: diamonds. There was no liberty in design, he
: HAD to work with the diamonds that were
    : provided to him.
