I agree. Besides that I think the Dutch actually do appreciate some tralala so now and then. I have not heard any complaint when the royal couple appeared glamorous on pictures by Mario Testino or Erwin Olaf. There was only applause and no critics when the Queen changed three times in haute couture including various jewelry on Investiture Day. Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus had an almost presidential style: the kingship should go into "content, content, content". King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima probably realize more that the zest for "content" is nice but that the general opinion is only interested in the Queen, the Princesses and the family-affairs.
