Unfortunately I’m a little out of time to initiate a new topic but I already know what jewel I’m going to talk next. Perhaps this weekend you all will see a new piece and its history. Thank you so much for this thread. Actually those jewels were part of the Crown Jewels and the Royal Family never asked for them because they knew it was State Property and not private property. Both necklace and tiara were ordered by Queen D.Maria Pia to the jeweler Estevão de Sousa and were made with diamonds belonging to the Portuguese treasure. As a curiosity the big diamond in the front of the tiara is called ‘D.Maria Pia Diamond’. There is an interesting history about Queen D.Maria Pia wearing this set. I’m going to try to find it (I don’t remember the details) and I’ll post it as soon as possible. The rest of the information was already explained by Cristina.
