I remember you stated not so long ago that there's a surplus to a piece that once belonged to royality which adds to the price - the same holds true for a signed piece of a company like Cartier, and unlike royal provenance there's a market for signed pieces, which determines the price. As for the "nice diamond bracelet with multicoloured gemstones" - if one can't see the not so subtle differences in quality of both design and stones, it will be of course more reasonable to go for the cheaper stuff, be it overpriced or not.
