Jorge, now you have an eagle eye! That looks definatelly like a 10th brooch to me! Can you believe I have this photo in my archives for years and I never notest the brooch "lost" between all those letters .
As to the Douro cruises brooch, there was a article on it in Flash magazine, the pics I posted are from that report. It was in May 2005. Dona Isabel was the patron of one of the Douro cruise ships, the "Douro Queen", and the shiping company presented her with that brooch. She arrived wearing no brooch, and she placed it after she was presented with it. The pic I posted shows her dancing in the party on the ship's maiden voyage (as we know the Duchess is a keen dancer).
As to the rubi and emerald brooch, the only time I saw it was at that wedding. The pic is from Caras magazine. It's not the clearest of pics but it looked indeed like rubis and emeralds, and Dona Isabel was wearing earings in a matching colour if so (the emerald earrings).
I think a Diamond and saphire (white and blue ) set would look wonderful on Dona Isabel, but I also think TRH love and work for their country and their people are far above any "colour scheme" (the red and green republican ones I mean). As we know, Dom Duarte even has some "credentials" given by the portuguese ministry of foreign office when he is representing the Portuguese Royal House in oficial visits/acts abroad.
--Previous Message-- : That's ok! No apologies needed. That just : happened because both of us really like to : discuss the Braganza jewels. : : Well, there is always a high level of : uncertain when talking about the portuguese : royal jewels. Initially I also thought the : bar brooch was part of the dress. However, : seeing more pictures of that event (Monaco : Royal wedding) and thinking about HRH style : I became convinced it was in fact a brooch. : : I agree with you: 9 brooches (if we are : correct) is not bad at all. And those are : the known ones. Probably there are more in : the Braganza vaults. Don't you think? : : The Douro brooch is completely new to me. : How do you know its origin? Do you have more : informations about it? : : The emerald and ruby brooch is also new to : me but not entirely: I saw the pictures of : the Duchess but never paid really attention : to the existence of a new jewel. Good eye : Cristina. And how do you know so many : details? : However, rubies and emeralds? Too republican : for the Royal Family (and for my taste) : : I forgot to add this picture. Do you think : we have a 10th brooch? : : :
