--Previous Message-- : : Thanks Beth for finding all those. : It is possible that Queen Alexandra's : circlet held her own Cullinan on the front? : : --Previous Message-- : I should have looked at other threads! : Boffer had previously reported information : from Roberts that QA had a second (her : personal) Regal circlet made in her early : years as a widow. : See : : : http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/archive/1336666131.html : : Edit: Another interesting piece by Boffer : : http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/archive/1340930741.html : : --Previous Message-- : Here is the link to the blog Nellie : mentioned. : One element - that Queen Alexandra's regal : circlet was made as a substitute for the : heavier Diamond Diadem - does not ring true : to me. : : : : http://trondni.blogspot.com.au/2011/04/royal-jewels-queen-mauds-maltese-cross.html : --Previous Message-- : : Amazed at all the knowledge out there. The Hanover Dispute is absolutely fascinating so thanks for all the additional details. I do think that Queen Adelaide had a considerable jewellery collection of her own which she may have left to her well loved niece Victoria e.g. The Queen Adelaide Brooch. I am off to look for pictures!Meanwhile, many thanks to jinja for being so helpful - much appreciated. This link to Queen Victoria at the Opera is my basis for further research - the earrings don't look like Queen Charlottes and I think the tiara can only be Queen Adelaide's necklace.
