Many thanks Stuart. My reading of that entry combined with the media reports suggests to me that Princess Beatrice received a complete parure of rubies. I think a reasonable deduction is that the parure mentioned by Queen Victoria refers to the first necklace, earrings etc mentioned by Bury which Nellie quoted in her post. http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/1435239972.html I am assuming that the parure worn by Queen Ena initially belonged to Queen Victoria - although I acknowledge that is not certain. The second necklace mentioned by Bury is clearly the Timur ruby necklace. That leaves us with trying to identify an opal necklace and whether and when it was converted to a ruby necklace as worn by QEQM and where the gemstones came from.
