I am not surprised to hear this; and I'm actually relieved, because I think this comports better with public opinion and the spirit of the times than does the dress code of the 1953 coronation. As I commented in an earlier post, I can't imagine Charles III planning an event in which serried ranks of bejeweled extended family members and aristocrats appeared next to representatives of charity organizations, of Commonwealth countries, and the like. The King announced in the autumn that the coronation would reflect the times and monarchy's current role so this seems both dignified and appropriate. (I love tiaras and traditional royal jewels as much as anyone...)
According to TheRoyalWatcher on twitter... the dresscode for the coronation will be daywear/uniforms instead of gowns and tiaras. He have seen an invitation for the coronation.

We've speculated ago it what tiara might be worn and by whom. Might this coronation ceremony be tiara free?
