Don't get me wrong i never expected those invited for their work as volunteers and charitable organisations to be in full gala outfits. I think opting for a similar outfit they'd wear at a garden party or royal wedding is perfectly acceptable. But the members of the king's extended family either have the jewels to wear full gala or have access to them. The same for foreign Royals. So if all of those are going to show up in day wear the king and queen are going to stick out like a sore thumb. Not the effect you want for a coronation.
I'm hoping this invitation belongs to one of those volunteers and we'll get to see the peers, peeresses, family members and royal guests attending all show why this is a coronation and not a swearing in ceremony. The glamour and glitz that goes with a coronation is part of the spectacle. If you do not use it, the ceremony itself becomes anachronistic and that is dangerous for the future of the monarchy in the UK.
