Thank you Brock, Christina, Hans, Kasper, Cynthia and Tamara! I don't have your trained eyes for jewellery identification - your help is much appreciated. It surely is a nice thought that Queen Ingrid lend the tiara from her mother, Margaretha of Sweden, to another Margaretha of Sweden.
Tamara, also thank you for leading me towards the original group photo from Princess Margrethe's 18th birthday at page 87 in Randi Buchwaldt and Ted Rosvall's book "Ingrid 1910 - 2000". Your scan enlarges the original photo of Margaretha, actually making it clearer.
I'm wondering which tiara the birthday girl herself is wearing at this group photo? We know that her parents presented her with the Diamond Drop Tiara for her 18th birthday, but to me it doesn't look like the one she is wearing. (But hey, I could be wrong ). I'm sorry I don't have a scanner at hand.
