I have read on the "from Her Majesty's Jewel Vault" site that some information has come to light regarding he provenance of the Three Thistle brooch worn most recently by HM at the Commonwealth games. They state:
"the Press Association reported that it was one of a set of four pins given to her by the Sultan of Oman; it would be natural to guess that the other three pins might represent other parts of the United Kingdom, though this was not detailed."
It got me wondering... what are the other 3. Here is my best guess: Ireland - the Shamrock brooch (with emerald ribbon) England - The Tudor Rose Wales - The Daffodil (from Welsh Rugby portrait)
