I think you may be on to something here, Bryce - to me, the first three seem to have a lot in common both stylistically and also having similar workmanship. The rose brooch has its stones set in a similar way to the other three, but the style is a bit of a departure... Do you happen to have any information about when these brooches began to appear? It might shed more light on the case if they started being worn all around the same time. The Queen visited Oman first in February and March of 1979, and then again in October of 2010, and the Sultan visited the UK in March of 1982 - does the timing give anyone any ideas?
