Lengthening and shortening did go on, in all generations I suspect, which makes these identifications so problematic.

    : Bonjour Franck,
    :
: I am a bit puzzled by your message. For me,
: the rivières worn by Queen Elizabeth II on
: Bryce's initial picture, at the opening
: ceremony of the London Olympic Games and
: possibly on your post's first picture (taken
    : on 19 November 2012 at a Royal Variety
: Performance) look very much alike, so I
: suspect they could be the same. But of
: course, with so many rivières available for
: the Queen, I can be wrong...
    :
    : Queen(-Mother) Elizabeth's Coronation
: rivière was inherited by the Queen in 2002,
: but has been loaned to the Duchess of
: Cornwall, who had it shortened by nine
: collets (source: Hugh Roberts' The Queen's
    : Diamonds ).

    : Dear Bryce,
    :
: What an interesting photo !
    :
: Please note that from my own point of
: view,Queen Elizabeth II has on least 6
    : diamonds collets necklaces :
    :
: 1° From Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother :
    :
: - The Duchess of Teck's collet necklace
: ((The lowest of the diamond collet necklaces
    : owned by Queen Mary)
    : - The Queen Elizabeth's coronation necklace
: (was given to Queen Elizabeth by King George
: VI to mark their coronation on 12 May 1937)
    : ;
: - The diamond collett necklace given as
: Duchess of York by the Duke of York
: (Purchased by the Duke of York with the
: Queen Elizabeth's Halo Tiara barely three
: weeks before he succeeded his brother as
: King George VI ( From Field and the QD)
    :
: Nellie also made a panel of the collet
: diamond necklaces owned by Queen Elizabeth
    : the Queen Mother.
    : - 2°Queen Elizabeth II :
    :
: We know that she inherited on least 2 collet
: diamond necklaces from Queen Mary (She had 8
    : principal collet diamond necklaces)
    :
: - From that we know that she had Queen
    : Alexandra's collet necklace.
: Queen Elizabeth II wore this necklace in
: Toronto in 2010. I have never seen a photo
: Queen Elizabeth this necklace at an other
    : event.
: - an longest collet diamond necklace. She
: wore this necklace in New Zealand, in Wales,
: in UAE in 2010.This diamond necklace is the
    : most worn by Queen Elizabeth II ;
    : [img] [/img]
    :
: - a small diamond collet necklace worn at
: the opening ceremony at the Olympic Games in
: 2012. (To me it is the only time she has
    : worn this necklace)
    : [img] [/img]
    : [img] [/img]
: - An other one diamond necklace worn when
: she was young (Your post) - She has also
: worn this collet nekclace with a black dress
: when she was worn - I don't know if it the
: same as the below one - What do you think ?
: The collets seems biggers ?
    :
: Please also note that I have asked the site
: "the Queen's jewels vault' to do the
    : modifications.
    :
    : Best regards,
    :

: In Arthur's first picture, it is nice to see
: HM wearing her corsage badge of the Imperial
: Order of the Crown of India which we will no
: doubt never seen worn again.

    : Hello Bryce,
    :
: judging from the picture below, which seems
: to be from the same event, I think it is
: indeed a diamond collet rivière.
    :
    :
    :
: I think that this diamond rivière, which
: seems to be made of rather small collets (if
: compared, for instance, to the bigger
: collets of Queen Victoria's Coronation
: Necklace), could be the same as the one worn
: by the Queen on 27 July 2012 for the opening
: ceremony of the London Olympic Games:
    :
    :
    :
: It is probably one of the many rivières that
: Queen Mary loved to pile on one another
    : around her neck...

: Can anyone confirm that this is a necklace
    : of
: collet diamonds. It is always hard to tell
: them apart but, if anyone happens to know
: which necklace this is, that would be great.
    :
: At first I thought it might be the South
: African necklace but there does not seem to
: be the right spacing between collets.
    :
: I do not recall HM wearing collets (other
: than the Coronation NL) very often so this
: photo seems a bit rare to me.
    :
: As always, I would appreciate your insight.
    :
    :
    :
    : Cheers!
