The choice of a partner is another issue. In the French dispute often is referred to the 'droit divin' and the birthright as descendants of the French Kings. I know that Prince Franćois is mentally handicapped but the solution that the eldest son is the Dauphin and the second eldest son looks after his interests as Régent du Dauphin was an elegant one. Bypassing the eldest son and denying his birthright does not help the claims of the Orléans: the devaluation of the rightful Dauphin show they do not care at all and do what they want.
