As there has not been an event announced for the evening i would not be surprised to see all royal ladies in tiara's. They are allready owned so no additional expense for their wearers (hats would be) and it would make for a glittering event. With the new king wearing white tie his brother, uncle and possibly cousins will also wear white tie. It would look odd to have the other Royal guests wear a morningcoat without the ribbon of their highest (Dutch) order. As the new Queen, Maxima will not be able to wear a dress with a long train so a glittering parure could set her off very nicely. Im guessing she be in one of these six shades: Red White Blue Black Gold Silver depending on my mood i could see each of them working. Still I would not have thought of dark pink for Queen Sofia of Spain but that worked well for the swearing-in ceremony of Juan Carlos so Maxima could surprise us. --Previous Message-- : Scenario 1 (Queen Máxima and the other ladies : of the Royal House in long daywear with : hats) and scenario 2 (Queen Máxima with a : diadem and the other ladies of the Royal : House in long daywear with hats) seem the : most obvious to me. : : I would not mind the new Queen to follow the : Norwegian example and wear a sort of textile : kokoshnik. That would also be a nice hint to : the last Queen-Consort when a King of the : Netherlands was invested (Sophie von : Württemberg) who had a Russian Grand Duchess : as a mother, like her spouse King Willem III : (both mother and mother-in-law for Willem : III as wel Sophie were sisters). : : By the way, now I am writing this, in my : mind goes the flash that the Prince did not : opt for King Willem IV because his names are : a combination of the last two Princes of : Orange (Prince Willem and his younger : brother Prince Alexander) who both died : before their father Willem III. In this way : the present Prince of Orange includes his : two last forebeares with that title in his : regnal name Willem-Alexander (instead of : Willem IV). : : :
