While browsing through the net, I found these pictures of Lady Mary Charteris (daughter of The Earl of Wemyss) on her wedding day, back in September 2012... The bride wears a necklace whose elements look identical to the Kent parure's brooch (plus the two 'other' necklace elements in the Kent necklace).
No, I won't comment on this bridal gown .
And now my question: could it be, that the brooch worn nowadays by HM is not an original part of the set (Kent demi-parure), but was aquired/received somewhen later (with the other two elements, now included in the necklace) and that the original brooch was indeed an oval one with rows of diamonds to surround them and not the one with this scroll/sunray design??? The oval brooch (http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/1409144593.html) would actually fit much better to the oval elements of the necklace...
For me it looks like the hexagonal elements were not made to go with the oval ones... It would be interesting to see the combs...I'm puzzled...
