I hope Boffer would not mind that I quote here from one of his past postings on fringes:
Princess Victoria's Fringe Necklace, which passed from Princess Victoria to the Duchess of York in 1935, and was worn by the Queen Mother with Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara on occasions. Upon QEQM's death in 2002 this will have passed, with the rest of her estate to the Queen.
