Back to royal jewels in Paris in 1855Archived Message

I have realised, thanks to Ursula's site, that what I think of as Queen Victoria's Sunray diadem/tiara (which was later in the possession of Princess Beatrice) could not have been worn by HM in Paris in 1855 as apparently Munn says it was created circa 1866.
Re Queen Victoira's head ornament at the ball at the Hotel de Ville. I have re-read the entry from the Garrard's ledge, a copy of which Nellie posted in 2012. See http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/archive/1340948243.html and I now realise that the Koh-i-noor was designed to sit above one of the honeysuckle ornaments crafted to be alternative elements for the Regal Circlet (I suspect that the bottom element in the central section of the Countess of Wessax's wedding tiara was the one designed to hold the Kohi-i-noor).
So, I can understand how HM would have worn the diamond in the tiara; yet, I am still perplexed by Bapst's description. I think I was probably mistaken in thinking that Queen Victoria would have worn the Diamond Diadem, but without definite proof, I'll keep an open mind on the issue.
I am still of the opinion that none of the water colours in the Royal Collection depicting the ball at the Hotel de Ville give an accurate impression of the details of HM's jewels.
