I wonder if any posters could interpret what jewels the Empress Eugenie wore for the ball at Versailles during the UK State Visit in August 1855.

Empress Eugenie was also said to have worn diamonds around the neckline/shoulder area of her gown - according to The Morning Chronicle (UK) 28 August 1855.
I am disappointed that, while all the UK media gave extensive and very interesting accounts of the grandeur of the ceremonial occasions, the palaces in France and the honours shown to the British royal visitors, only a very brief mention was made of the jewels of the royal ladies.
