"After a lot of checking I have not found the source for the belief that Sophie’s tiara, worn by the Queen in 1970, was ever connected with the source of gems for the remake of the Queen’s aquamarine tiara. No connection whatsoever."
"Have checked Young, Menkes, Field, Bury, Munn, and online Royal Collection, and done a lot of googling."
But, in your 2nd post in this very same thread yot quote Fields as follow:
"In 1968 the Queen and Prince Philip made their first State visit to Brazil and the Governor of São Paulo presented the Queen with a V-shaped ‘hair ornament’, as it was described at the time, also made of aquamarines and diamonds. In 1971 the stones from this were used to make four scroll-shaped motifs for the tiara, positioned around the three upright oblongs; a collet aquamarine was placed on the tip of each of the seven vertical ornaments.“
And recently you add: "I feel that the fan/shell elements in the Queen’s aquamarine tiara were lifted holus bolus from somewhere - PRESUMABLY from the V-shaped hair ornament gift of 1968."
Sorry, i'm lost in your thoughts, as I understand it's not presumably but the words of Fields...
Or you try to say that the V-shaped hair thing from 1968 is not the same that the one of Sophie and The Queen canadian tiara???
