My sister, Mandy, SIL Nancy, Niece Erika and her husband, Fred were at our house. It was a great visit!!! Friday night we all got together with Mike's family at a local restaurant. Great time. Saturday was the party/celebration. Probably 65 people or so. It was so set up with all the years of photos.... growing up and family and school and Alex's extra curricular activites. A grand trip down memory lane! It was a wonderful gathering. Loved it all. - great weather all weekend! - Princess Molly decided to spend the night with everyone. Fun. - I got a few new summer night shirts. Two with cats on them. - I love you ladies so much.

I made a promise to myself not to push too much and get myself down I can’t tell if the ablation is working yet or not because of all the soreness and my right hip/bursitis is horrible. I am getting an injection into the bursa Tuesday. I keep having spasms I. My low right back right near that hip and I don’t know why. I feel like everything is falling apart!

I used to use the dry heat sauna at the gym or the hot whirlpool and each would help. For small areas heating pad that had a pad to wet so that it was wet heat. I hope that you find something to get some relief from it. Way to go on being mindful of not overdoing it in the water.

John’s doesn’t but I ordered a heating pad for th car from amazon and it’s amazing. It’s so nice! Best 24.00 I’ve ever spent. It doesn’t heat your bottom to get your back relief like the heated seats in my car. Highly recommended!! I don’t know if my fibromyalgia is getting worse (is that possible) but my muscles get so sore at anything different I do or anything very physical and I have gotten so weak. My balance is also horrible and if I don’t work on it I see a fall coming sometime in my future I started a video no floor work balance video 7 minute a day program today. It’s a video a day for 30’days. I’m praying it helps.

I love those big heating pads Posted by Delta on 6/16/2025, 3:26 pm, in reply to "Delta" My car seats would let me heat just my back or bottom or both and I loved it but my husband's truck only does both and that irritates me. I need to check into that heating pad for a car. I do know that using a heating pad frequently makes my muscles relax and the spasming stop, but I notice that it makes my muscles weaker after using it frequently, too. I use a balance workout, too, but haven't been using it enough lately. If you can find a gym with either steam or infrared heat, try it and see if it relieves you. I loved it, but the gym that we went to has been so crazy since the pandemic that we let our membership lapse and haven't started going back. I miss it. I did see recently where I could order an infrared kit if there was a spare closet that could be turned into a heat unit. I have been thinking about it.

I’ve been going since 2008 except when it closed for Covid. They have changed a lot of things after Covid that I don’t necessarily like but honestly I have t been able to use it nearly as much OR I haven’t. That’s probably why I’m so much weaker. Paying the price. I put my watch on right before we left the house this afternoon. Had to go to Sam’s then Aldi then I went I. The gym while John had speech therapy. Well I had walked .65 miles before the gym and 1.5 when we left. I walked today on the track ( it’s rubberized) and my hips were hurting so badly. I had to stop. I did do my balance but it’s short and not really exercise. What balance do you do. I have bookmarked 2 on YouTube for after this one.

I personally like the steam room, but I have a hard time breathing there, so I use the sauna, and I like it. I guess my favorite is the hot tub because the one there is the size of half a regulation pool and is a gradual walk down with seats all around, or places people can stand in the center and have bubble therapy if they need something that they don't need to be seated for. I find that the heat helps the spasms a lot. If the walking is hurting so much, have you tried a recumbent bike or another machine that gets your heart rate up. I doubt that the rowing machine or step climber you use your arms on would work with your shoulder right now, but a recumbent might be good. I was having a hard time one time, I started over with the treadmill and track because of a hip problem, but I found that doing 5 minutes on the bike, then slowly working up worked with my hip. I was at over 5 miles by the end of the month, then started working toward 10. I ended up losing 10 pounds that month without changing my eating, too, so it shows that you don't have to go in gung ho and work yourself into the ground to work. Without going to look, I am pretty sure that my balance workout is Better 5. I bought one of their workouts when I started falling all the time. It helped, but nothing stopped the falls until they took me off the meds that made my head woozy. They also have videos on YouTube if you want to look.

I anticipate that I will be on an antidepressant for the rest of my life. I have chronic depression that is often not linked to any precipitating factor. It blows in out of nowhere as you guys have seen. My one hope is that, maybe, if I get healthier and more active, it will go away. I know your birthday is this week.. What's the number? I think you may be the 'youngster' on here. Hugs!

My daughter and SIL made a rush trip home to pick up medications and pet food and headed back to the lake for another week before he decides where he wants to work. He has two companies trying to outbid each other to get him to work for them but both companies have some internal problems that he would have to clean up first thing that will make his life very stressful, so he is figuring it out. Daughter's youngest son got back from his Bahamas cruise with some of his father's family safely, thought they were delayed at Charlotte, N.C. for over 7 hours going and at Orlando for over 6 hours coming back. He had a great time. He left this morning for Florida with his brothers. They are almost to their destination. I hope they have a great time. Our youngest grandson (son's boy) had a bike wreck and broke two fingers and dislocated another one on Wednesday. They set it and casted it, but he will still have to have surgery this week on it to have pins put in. The grateful is that they live only minutes from a top-rated ER, also the hospital where his mother works, and also from a great Ortho center that was able to treat him within a short time of the accident. Also grateful that he has not had to use anything for pain except what they gave him at the ER. Sadly, it is his right hand and he is right-handed, and it puts paid to his swim club meets this summer, and they are now having to miss their vacation that was supposed to start yesterday, and they won't get a lot of their money back for tickets and lodging deposits. It is still up in the air whether he will get to go to Boy Scout camp/week long hike in Arizona later this month. He just got out of a cast on his arm three weeks ago. He is growing so fast right now that his bones are hollow like a bird. He just turned 15 and has shot up to 6'6" already. Watching college baseball tournaments with my husband. I have always enjoyed baseball. All the farmers' markets and pick-your-own orchards around here have started back up. Our little garden is doing well. It has certainly had enough water this spring. I love fresh vegetables.

Her stepdaughter is 14.

He has always been bigger than other kids his age. A tall beanpole. When they were dealing with the broken arm from a collision on the basketball court a few weeks ago they said that the xrays looked as if his growth plates were almost fused so they didn't think he would grow much more. The ortho this time told him the same thing so hopefully he is almost done with growing. It is already hard to find shoes.

That was last year before school and I know he has grown a lot since then. My dad loved Florsheim shoes! Even though we often had to budget carefully, they were always in his budget. He had very high arches and his feet were thich up and down because of it. They were the only shoes he could wear that were comfortable. I know he always ordered his shoes so I am not certain if he was special ordering them or if ordering was the only way to get them where we lived.

I'm bored and still anxious about how far the surgery will.take me (for no good reason!) Can't get below 262....yet! I fell in love with my nurse at the hospital. She was wonderful and we had a great relationship. Lots of laughs in between the hard times (like the panic attack). Usually a transport person wheels you out of the hospital but she chose to take me. When we got to the car, we were trying to figure out how best to get my legs in without twisting. At one point, she used the phrase 'turn around'; then, repeated it like in Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'. I got it immediately and started singing the next part and she kept doing the Turn Around. It was so funny. I asked her if she would marry me. Lol She didn't say no! Anyway, I nominated her for an award for nursing care but also wanted to get her something. Found the perfect gift.

As a matter of fact, when the swelling starts going down, you may lose 5-10 pounds suddenly. You just keep doing what you know will help your body and let your body heal. There is a reason that they make you stay off work 6 weeks after a major surgery; it takes time to heal. You will get there. I know the boredom during recovery well. Is there any new hobby you want to learn while you are laid up or an old one that you might like to revisit? A class you have wanted to take for fun? I don't know if it is a good time to take classes for work with the meds and pain and such but fun things would work. Plan out a trip, even if you don't plan to go for a year or more you can find out all the places that you don't want to miss and where would be the best area to stay and all those other things that go into a trip and just don't lock anything in, yet. Study the Bible with more maturity and see if you understand it in a way that you didn't earlier and find out if it answers your questions and uncertainties as opposed to what you were taught or understood as a young person with less experience. Plan a get-together for all of us. I'll volunteer the lake house if we get the additions done this summer so that we can all have a place to sleep. Look up some new recipes and start a new Pinterest account, even if you have one, to keep all the recipes that you want to try and a list of all the ones that you want to revisit. Make out some menus that keep you on track for times that are tough and you just want easy. There has got to be something to keep you from being so bored. Order some clay and find a sculpting class online to try. Order some paint and try an online painting class or do a Bob Ross painting. Make a quilted throw for your recliner. Or Crochet or knit one. Crochet or knit some dish clothes out of cotton thread, they are the best. There has got to be something that will stimulate you mentally or keep your hands busy.

I took 10mg of oxycodone before bed the first 3 nights home but I don't like how.it makes me feel. I may take a couple Tylenol. My back is so much better that the surgical.pain dims in comparison to what I've lived with for the past couple of years. I am thinking about seeing a.client this week and plan to do a.full week of telehealth next week. I've only got about 12 clients so can spread them out over 5 days instead of 3 and the times I will be available won't work for everyone. I'm still bleeding (since Friday). Talked to a nurse friend who said she thinks its been reasonable for me not to rush to the ER as long as there's no smell or signs of infection and not bleeding THROUGH the dressing. I sent a message to the surgeon's office today and I know I'll hear back tomorrow. I've always wanted to work with clay. Have a trip Spain planned from October 21st through November 7th and an Airbnb booked in Paris from April 16-May 2nd!!

It was a special celebration at Church! Love my Church! 2. Love watching the NBA finals with my husband. Actually, love watching anything with my husband. Yesterday, we watched Accountant 2. Good action movie! 3. Cindy was featured on her employers' Facebook page. What a well deserved honor! 4. For Father's Day, my husband has chosen a new Chinese restaurant to try.
