Not necessarily. Queen Adelaide had her personal jewels.
From Queen Adelaide by Mary Hopkirk, at a meeting where Charles Greville was present, the Queen looked at drawings prepared for her "and said she would have none of our crowns, that she did not like to wear a hired crown"
" ' I do not like it, and I have got jewels enough, so I will have them made up myself.' The King said to me, 'Very well, then you will have to pay for the setting.' 'Oh, no,' she said, 'I shall pay for it all myself.' "
Added edit: So it could be a Hanoverian fringe but not George III diamonds. The plot thickens !!
--Previous Message-- : : Since it was a modified necklace of Queen : Adelaide's made with "family : diamonds," then wouldn't it have likely : gone to Hanover as a result of the lawsuit? : : :
