Since the topic has come up- does anyone know this historical connection between the fleur de lys and the three PoW feathers as design motifs? Did one evolve from the other, or is it simply coincidence that they look similar and are both part of royal insignia? Maybe insignia is not the correct term - I just mean symbolic design elements. I've wondered about this many times.
