I saw that section also. I am concerned that the collection itself and the integrity of its information could be swamped by a rush to join the "one size fits all" crowd.
I fear that money, effort and time are going into the entertainment and theme park styles of promotionrather than into scholarly research and publication, and conservation - what I would have thought was its core business.
I don't think the Royal Collection is like any public museum.
Gathering visitor and user comments is fine, for them to read themselves. But why clutter the screen space for the rest of us by displaying the comments? There's no shortage of web sites where people can chatter away about the whole range of royal matters.
More clutter with a map! I know where London, Windsor and Edinburgh are, and can comprehend where a travelling exhibition might be. A link to a map of the world would do.
It will be ads next! The expense of paying people to add unnecessary bells and whistles has to be met somehow !
--Previous Message-- : Improvements and developments to the searching : and browsing ability for the Royal : Collection website are announced in this : section I have not noticed before as they : say: : : "The database is updated regularly with : new and improved images and text.
