Must add that I have no objection, when solid evidence cannot be found, to state something like " it has long been believed" or similar.
It is fair and proper to provide traditional legends until, or if ever, evidence does come to light.
But they must be identified as legends, not facts.
For example, I'm thinking of the story of the origins of the Order of the Garter.
In addition, anyone can make mistakes but my concern is over the publication of them.
