You are wrong about the saphire tiara. The original frame could be taken apart when the frame was remade in the early 20th century in the more lightweight platinum this option was left out.
--Previous Message-- : I was not around when Queen Beatrix assumed : the kingship in 1980. After looking this : week's program Andere Tijden about the : Investiture 1980 I can only say : e-ve-ry-thing will be better. The venues, : the street decorations (I could barely see : any on the images of 1980), the general mood : in the city and the fashion anno 2013 is far : more stylish than those awful polyester : suits, sideburns and sloppy gowns of the : late Seventies/early Eighties. : : Forget about diadems. The dresscode for : ladies is the same as on Prinsjesdag. Even : when Máxima wears no diadem, she is not : breaking the rule as Queen Juliana alredy : wore no diadem in 1948. I read that the : grand diadem from the Mellerio Sapphire : Parure can not only be re-set (Mabel's : Wedding diadem). The central prong can also : be worn as an aigrette, the : "sides" of the diadem can be worn : as haircombs. There are so many more : possibilities to have some sparkle. : : :
