That was my idea too. Now all Van Vollenhovens have lost their membership of the Royal House, they will become less and lesser visible than they already are, is my guess.
The Duke and Duchess of Parma and the other De Bourbon de Parmes do however frequent international events, like the wedding of Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia, the Enthronement of the new Pope, the Funeral of Archduke Otto of Austria, the beatification of Emperor Karl, etc. Also at the 40 th birthday of the Prince of Orange, the ladies from Beatrix and Irene were the only ones to wear items from the Foundation.
--Previous Message-- : I have observed something different. : Ultimately the foundation is a family : foundation. The Queen has shown to care : little for such 'technicalities' as who is : member of the Royal House. The Bourbon de : Parmes have already been borrowing more : pieces than the Van Vollenhovens so a : distinction is made along other lines : regardless what the ranks according to : (non)membership of the Royal House might be. : In the Netherlands the Bourbon de Parmes may : be a mere noble family (HRH if I may add), : in Europe they are in the league of : non-reigning royal families. They carry : ancient hereditary princely, ducal and : comital titles and Carlos, Annemarie, Jaime : and Carolina have had to officially : represent their House on several occasions. : The Van Vollenhovens don't really have such : responsibilities. Ok. maybe once a : year....not the same. And that's what seems : to matter. Not what the their place in line : to the Dutch throne is/was. : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : The de Bourbon de Parme's are a Dutch noble : family with the prefix HRH but they are not : Royals. Maurits, Marilène, Bernhard and : Annette are. : : --Previous Message-- : But in the future 'the execution of the : royal : function' as is worded in the statutes of : the Foundation means that in principle the : jewelry pool is for the Orange-Nassaus : (Máxima, Mabel, Laurentien, Beatrix, : Margriet) and -when needed- the De Bourbon : de Parmes, since they still are a royal : family with the prefix HRH. : : : : : : : : :
