Henri my comments were on her being a bad head of the House of Orange-Nassau. I allready praised her as queen. But the House of Orange-Nassau is not the Royal House and it isn't a noble family either. This third institution is lacking any guidelines.

: Except for not wearing the House Diamonds (I
: believe the Queen has worn diamond pendants
: from the bow brooch) there is finally
: uniformity in the Royal House:
    :
    : HM The King
    : HM The Queen
: HRH Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands
: HRH The Princess of Orange
: HRH Princess Alexia of the Netherlands
: HRH Princess Ariane of the Netherlands
: HRH Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands
: HRH Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands
: HRH Princess Margriet of the Netherlands
    : Pieter van Vollenhoven
    :
: That is a quite coherent and uniform group.
: The only persons who are of interest outside
: this group are the three children of Prince
    : Constantijn (Countess Eloïse, Count
: Claus-Casimir and Countess Eleonore) who
: remain successors until their cousine The
: Princess of Orange assumes the kingship.
    :
: Queen Beatrix had no say about the De
: Bourbon de Parmes and the Guillermo's. The
: "mess" lies in the princely titles
: of the four Van Vollenhoven boys and that
: was Juliana's decision. She could have
: created them all nobles with the surname Van
    : Lippe-Biesterfeld van Vollenhoven.
    :
: No, I think Queen Beatrix is little to blame
: because she just respected decisions and
: arrangements made by her mother. Anyway, to
: come back on the Investiture, my guess is
: that Queen Máxima will wear the bandeau of
: rose-cut diamonds. It looks like máde for
: her, a stunning symbiose with her formal
: hairdo, for sure in combination with large
: diamond pendant earrings and a collet
    : collier with big diamonds...

: She was a great Queen of the Netherlands,
    : but
: a lousy Head of the House of Orange-Nassau.
: Her reign lacked a seperate vision for the
    : House of Orange-Nassau but she's introduced
: a very dangereous thing by creating the
: noble hereditary titles count of
    : Orange-Nassau and count of Orange-Nassau van
: Amsberg without restrictions on the use of
    : those names and titles.
    :
: Think of not making the titles within the
: family comply with the gender neutral
: succession that was established during her
    : reign, the family-names of Margriet's
: grandchildren, the use of Noordeinde Palace
: to register trusts for non-dynasts and
: relatives who do not belong to the Royal
: House. The titles for Constantijn's
: children, the use of the title princess for
: Mabel, Anita and Aimée. The title for
: Friso's kids. Or something more simply and
: more in line with this board: not wearing
    : the House diamonds.

    : Nicely put.

: It shows Beatrix' failure as a good Head of
: the House of Orange-Nassau. In my view the
: one area she made mistake after mistake and
: her reign was a complete disaster.

: That was my idea too. Now all Van
    : Vollenhovens
: have lost their membership of the Royal
: House, they will become less and lesser
: visible than they already are, is my guess.
    :
: The Duke and Duchess of Parma and the other
: De Bourbon de Parmes do however frequent
: international events, like the wedding of
: Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia, the
: Enthronement of the new Pope, the Funeral of
: Archduke Otto of Austria, the beatification
: of Emperor Karl, etc. Also at the 40 th
: birthday of the Prince of Orange, the ladies
: from Beatrix and Irene were the only ones to
: wear items from the Foundation.
    :
    : --Previous Message--
: I have observed something different.
: Ultimately the foundation is a family
: foundation. The Queen has shown to care
: little for such 'technicalities' as who is
: member of the Royal House. The Bourbon de
: Parmes have already been borrowing more
: pieces than the Van Vollenhovens so a
: distinction is made along other lines
: regardless what the ranks according to
: (non)membership of the Royal House might be.
: In the Netherlands the Bourbon de Parmes may
: be a mere noble family (HRH if I may add),
: in Europe they are in the league of
: non-reigning royal families. They carry
: ancient hereditary princely, ducal and
: comital titles and Carlos, Annemarie, Jaime
: and Carolina have had to officially
: represent their House on several occasions.
: The Van Vollenhovens don't really have such
: responsibilities. Ok. maybe once a
: year....not the same. And that's what seems
: to matter. Not what the their place in line
: to the Dutch throne is/was.
    :

: The de Bourbon de Parme's are a Dutch noble
: family with the prefix HRH but they are not
: Royals. Maurits, Marilène, Bernhard and
    : Annette are.
    :
    : --Previous Message--
: But in the future 'the execution of the
    : royal
: function' as is worded in the statutes of
: the Foundation means that in principle the
: jewelry pool is for the Orange-Nassaus
    : (Máxima, Mabel, Laurentien, Beatrix,
: Margriet) and -when needed- the De Bourbon
: de Parmes, since they still are a royal
: family with the prefix HRH.
