That is a good story, and it makes sense! It also speculates that the Rundell tiara was used to make a new circlet. The Rundell disappeared from view a very long time ago, so perhaps it was. Also, I've been thinking that none of the queens wore Queen Victoria's regal circlet for very long. She herself had the tiny crown made. Queen Alexandra evidently had a new circlet made. Queen Mary preferred the circlet of her crown. Queen Elizabeth also wore the circlet of her crown, which now contains the regal circlet diamonds. I wonder whether the regal circlet was somehow difficult to wear. Its golden frame is lovely, but who knows. Maybe it was somewhat uncomfortable.
