I think your subjectline is not acurate. You have convinced me that the Tiara is not by Mellerio (as I already reread in René Brus' book in the past week). Vita Israël seems to me the most logical solution as to who were the makers but I am yet not totaly convinced that Masin is not the maker and I am sure he deserves most of the credit for the design. As you yourself point out in your english text: Masin had his own stand at the exhibition, the kings sons and the king must have known his work and the king knew where to find him for another order... Why are you so persistent in that caption as to exclude him? It would have been better and more accurate to write: "Why the Dutch saphire tiara is not Mellerio" And leave Masin out untill we will know more By the way: I do very much appreciate your work here on this noard and think your text in english is enlightening. Is the book about Mellerio already available? I am terrible with french but also with Danish and I bought Bjarnes book also and never regretted it --Previous Message-- : Thank you Jos, I intend to publish more in : English from now on. : R
